Juried Alumni Exhibition

The Crisp-Ellert Art Museum and Flagler College are delighted to announce our third bi-annual Juried Alumni Exhibition, opening with a reception for the artists on Friday, May 17 in conjunction with Alumni Weekend. The opening will take place from 5 until 7pm, with a special performance by artist Kevin Mahoney (Class of 2014) at 6pm. This event is free and open to the public, and the exhibition will continue through June 14.

The artists included in this exhibition reflect the diverse artistic practices embraced by alumni of Flagler College’s Department of Visual Art over the past 20 years. The bodies of work vary in content, concept, method and material, and embody the values advocated by faculty, both past and present, in the Department: a cultivation of individual creativity, critical reflection, and historical consciousness.

About the juror:

Amy Galpin, Ph.D., is the Chief Curator at the Frost Art Museum at Florida International University in Miami. She is formerly the Curator at the Cornell Fine Arts Museum of Rollins College and Associate Curator, Art of the Americas, at the San Diego Museum of Art. In addition to exhibitions at these institutions she has also curated exhibitions for the National Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago, the Pasadena Museum of California Art, Woman Made Gallery, Chicago, Orlando Science Center, and the Mennello Museum of American Art, Orlando, among other spaces
