Legendary surfer and opioid addiction: film and event

A surf-themed evening of free music, film, and special guests presented by the Saint Augustine Film Festival and the Friends of the Saint Augustine Amphitheater.

The evening will showcase the recently-released documentary Kissed by God, by Teton Gravity Research, which focuses on the untold story of three-times world champion Hawaiian surfer Andy Irons and his struggle with bipolar disorder and opioid addiction.

The doors open at 7 p.m. at the Saint Augustine Amphitheater and includes two bands that will start at 7:30 – Kelp and Oh Great Sea – followed by the film at 8:30 p.m. There will be a guest appearance by New Symrna Beach surfer Patrick “Tupat” Eichstaedt, who has been called one of the
