Plein Air Workshop with Morgan Samuel Price

 Each morning of the Plein Air workshop Morgan Samuel Price will do a painting demonstration on location (weather permitting). The lecture-painting demonstration is designed to cover necessary academic principles. If the principle is value, the use of value is explained in detail. The type of illusion that Morgan will demonstrate will cover a particular topic such as "reflections." All the aspects of creating the illusion are discussed and demonstrated prior to the painting of the scene. The information necessary for success in any genre is the same. Students will receive an e-mail indicating the beaches painting location.

The artists in the workshop can work in the medium of their choice. The subject matter is of their choice. The painting demonstrations for the class are in oil. The subject is generally a local scene where the artist can experience an on location painting development. There are times that the painting will have figures in it, cars, flowers, trees, barns, houses, commercial buildings, birds, cows, horses, or just the scene.
