Sing Out Loud: Ancient City Poets Showcase | SEPTEMBER 24

Savor the flavor of the St. Augustine spoken word scene. Hosted by Chris Bodor, Florida Beat Poet Laureate. A community open mic will follow the showcase, for all those who would like to share their poetry and spoken word. The sign-up sheet for the open mic will be available when doors open on the day of the event.

This showcase and open mic will be held on 100 Thousand Poets for Change weekend, a global event featuring hundreds of gatherings all over the world. Since 2011, 100 Thousand Poets for Change has been working with poets, writers, artists, musicians to help organize events around the world for peace, justice and sustainability.

You can be an agent of change with your written words. Bob Dylan created change, and so did John Lennon. This is the idea behind 100 Thousand Poets for Change, a grassroots organization now in its twelfth year that brings communities together to call for environmental, social, and political change within the framework of peace and sustainability.

3:00 PM to 4:00 PM – Local Poetry Spotlight featuring nine Ancient CIty Poets with emcee Chris Bodor, Florida Beat Poet Laureate

Cassandra Baker, Bridget Birdsall, Annie Kiyonaga, Pat Konover, Michael Henry Lee, Tonn Pastore, Kevin PM, Robert Waldner, and Daniel Welch.

4:00 PM – Followed by a community open mic.
