The Russian State Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1957. Over
time it was led by such renowned conductors as Aranovich, Shostakovich,
Rozhdestvensky, among others, until the early 90s when Maestro
Polyansky took over the position of artistic director and chief
conductor. The Orchestra ranks among the finest Russian symphony
orchestras of the 21st century. It is a frequent participant of
international festivals in European countries and the Far East.
