Lewis Auditorium is located at 14 Granada Street in downtown St. Augustine. Returning in the role of Peter Pan will be Georgia Ballet’s Artistic Director, Daet Rodriguez. Rodriguez trained at the prestigious National Ballet School of Cuba in Havana and later danced with Cuba’s Ballet de Camaguey, and the Teatro Centro de Arte-Leon Febres Cordero in Ecuador. Local celebrity pirate, Captain William Mayhem, will reprise his inimitable role as Captain Hook. Known as the Pirate Magician of Saint Augustine, Captain Mayhem is an experienced Las Vegas entertainer and current Pirate Magician in residence at the Saint Augustine Pirate Museum. The ballet is based on the story by J.M. Barre and follows the Darling children’s adventures in Neverland, the home of Peter Pan and the Lost Children. Saint Augustine Ballet premiered Peter Pan in the spring of 2015 with rave reviews and decided to bring it back to the stage. Audience members are encouraged to come dressed as Pirates or a favorite character from the story. It is also suggested that they bring a jar of Peter Pan Peanut Butter to donate to a food drive for the St. Francis House Food Pantry. Lewis Auditorium at Flagler College is located at 15 Granada Street in St. Augustine, Florida. For more information about Peter Pan, visit www.saintaugustineballet.com or call 904-824-1746. Saint Augustine Ballet is a 501(c)3 non-profit performing arts organization dedicated to creating dance opportunities for students of dance and appreciative audiences. Their productions are made possible by sponsorships from numerous local businesses, and individual supporters.
