St. Augustine Winter Spectacular

The holiday season is upon us and there are few local events that get you into the holiday spirit quite like the St. Augustine Winter Spectacular!

Now celebrating its 10th anniversary, this all-original holiday production features over 100 local performers who dazzle the stage with precise kicklines that resemble the Radio City Rockettes, acrobats and aerialists who tumble across the air, ballerinas that perform en pointe, and recognizable holiday characters who always make the audience laugh. The show features a family-friendly storyline that entertains all ages with its variety of holiday music, dancing, and storytelling.

The St. Augustine Winter Spectacular, created by Executive Artistic Director Stephanie Burkhardt, is presented by The Dance Company, the premier dance studio in St. Johns County. The Dance Company is a 501(c)3 non-profit dance studio. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the studio’s “Everyone Dances” scholarship fund.

This year’s lead is played by local dancer Karina Hemelt, a Senior at St. Joseph Academy who has been dancing with The Dance Company for 12 years. Hemelt says, “I am most excited about sharing this experience of being the lead role with my dance family.” Her favorite styles are contemporary and hip-hop, but she will be dancing in a variety of additional styles throughout the show.

Performances will be held on Saturday, December 10th at 2 PM and 7 PM and Sunday, December 11th at 2 PM in the Lewis Auditorium at Flagler College amidst the festive Nights of Lights downtown.
