David and Joyce Tucker: March Featured Artists at The Art Studio
The Art Studio is proud to feature David and Joyce Tucker as our Artists of the Month of March. David Earl Tucker began artwork at an early age and has utilized many training opportunities through the years. Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, he has lived and painted in many locations throughout the Southeastern United States and seeks to capture, with brush and paint, subjects and events of those areas that invited him to smile. He utilizes mediums of acrylic and oil paints on stretched canvas and panels to share with others our wonderful world. His artwork, he says, is an “expression of my heart.” It reflects the way he sees the world: Its beauty, its color, its people, and it’s many special and unique gifts. David’s compositions focus upon landscapes, seascapes, and portraits.
Joyce Tucker, born in Fresno, CA, has lived in Florida off and on for many years. She is primarily a watercolor artist who paints an eclectic mix of subjects that catch her eye and evokes an emotion that she wants to share with the viewer. The most important compliment, to her, that she receives from a person is when someone tells her, “This painting speaks to me.” In addition to watercolor, Joyce also enjoys macramé projects in which she hand dyes the fiber in bold colors and utilizes beads, metal and natural elements. Joyce currently is a member of the Board of Directors and is Membership Chair at The Art Studio in St Augustine Beach, FL. David and Joyce Tucker are now or have been members of several art associations including: The Art Studio of St Augustine Beach, The Palatka Art League, Haven Hospice of North Florida Art Association, Orange Park Art Association and Artisans Way Art Studio of Melrose. The Art Studio is available to rent for classes or as meeting space. Membership is offered at just $20.00/year although it is not necessary to become a member to participate in any of the variety of classes offered. Our regular studio hours are Monday-Friday from 12:00 pm-4:00 pm. Please see our calendar at www.beachartstudio.com for a list of classes, events, and special hours.
