The Shooter

Joan Blake, a TV impresario and her husband Bill are making a documentary about Gun Violence in America, in Chicago. They are on opposite sides of the gun debate. She would like all guns to disappear; he is an NRA advocate, a hunter and target shooter. They banter back and forth  during the taping while Joan interviews ten people whose lives have been drastically affected by gun violence. Interviewees include the Newtown CT first-graders’ shooter, a Doctor in Charleston SC (first responder to AME church shooting), a Clergyman from Parkland, FL,  a “concerned citizen” from Kalamazoo, MI (The Uber killer”), and much more including an NRA advocate. One problem with this play is that it continually needs refreshing as the horror stories continue to build in this national tragedy.
