Wednesday Brown Bag Lunch: The Spice & Tea Exchange presents: The Spice of Life

It’s time to spice up your fall menus and join Friends as we welcome back Colleen Messner from The Spice & Tea Exchange to talk about enhancing food and drink with herbs and spices. Ms. Messner’s last Brown Bag Lunch program was a tea party where attendees learned about the history of tea and sampled several different teas featured at her shops. For the October program, she will introduce us to a variety of spices and suggested recipes, with taste tests and samples ranging from spiced popcorn to (non-alcoholic) Bloody Marys. Colleen also plans to offer an iced version of one of her teas and will bring some spices from The Spice & Tea Exchange to sell after the program. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to help with Main Library programs.

Patrons are welcome to bring their lunch to the Brown Bag Program. Light refreshments will be provided. The signature Brown Bag Lunch program is free and open to the public, but reservations are required to guarantee seating.
