Legends of the Sea

Learn about sailor superstitions (what’s the best day to set sail and are bananas allowed aboard a ship?), sailor tattoo meanings (what does a pig and a chicken tattoo mean to a sailor?) and sea monsters.  Sea serpents, leviathans, and krakens (oh, my!)— we’ll make our own sea monster!  Using historic sketches of sea monsters, we’ll be looking for clues to solve modern maritime monster mysteries.
