The St. Augustine Jazz Society is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to keeping jazz alive on Florida’s First Coast.

History, Goals, Scholarship, Play It Forward (instrument donations):
The St. Augustine Jazz Society was founded in 1989 by a group of musicians and area residents who enjoy jazz and swing music, good fellowship, and the opportunity to serve the community. SAJS provides an important forum for the exchange of information among jazz enthusiasts within the area. Since the beginning, the Jazz Society has presented and produced numerous jazz programs and events, bringing musicians and the public together to enjoy, appreciate, and learn about jazz.

THE ADVANCEMENT OF JAZZ
The Jazz Society supports, promotes, and increases public awareness, interest, and participation in jazz as an art form by producing monthly jazz jams, concerts, and performances in support of civic functions.
Jazz Jams take place on the last Sunday of each month (with some exceptions) at the Royal St. Augustine Golf Clubhouse from 2-6 PM.

The music is provided by first-rate jazz musician members from around the area. Visiting musicians and singers are always invited to sit in. Just identify yourself, what instrument you play, and sign in. The charge is usually $5.00 for members and $7.00 for nonmembers. There is no admission charge for musicians or singers who perform.

Crisp-Ellert Art Museum at Flagler College

crisp-ellertBuilt in honor of Dr. JoAnn Crisp-Ellert and her husband, Dr. Robert Ellert, the Crisp-Ellert Art Museum offers Flagler College students and the Northeast Florida community a venue for fostering knowledge and a deep appreciation of contemporary art. As an educational resource for the College, the Museum exhibits regional, national and international artists, and provides opportunities for critical engagement and exposure to a variety of exhibitions and personal interactions with visiting artists. The Museum challenges students, the Flagler community and the public to cultivate individual creativity, critical reflection, historical consciousness and respect for the free exchange of ideas. In this spirit, the Museum also hosts public programs, including artist talks, readings, panel discussions and film series that provide a platform for vital interdisciplinary dialogue.
