All female and male students of dance who are five to seven years old are invited to Saint Augustine Ballet’s open audition for the part of an angel in their seventh annual production of The Nutcracker. Auditions are open to all dance students regardless of dance studio affiliations. Auditions will take place on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Abella’s School of Dance. Abella’s is located at 1711 Lakeside Avenue, Unit 9, in Saint Augustine, Florida 32084.
Registration will start at 9:00 a.m. Dancers must be five to seven years old by September 1, 2015. Auditions begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. A non-refundable $25 fee audition will be charged at the time of registration. Please bring cash or checks made out to Saint Augustine Ballet.
All dancers must bring a 4” x 6” head shot photo to the audition. Proper ballet attire is required: black leotard, pink tights with hair in a bun for girls, white t-shirt and black dance shorts/pants for boys. Once cast, there is an additional non-refundable performance fee of $175 that covers costume rental with fittings, and cast t-shirt. Once cast, dancers must commit to the weekly Saturday rehearsal schedule and the pre-performance rehearsals held the week of December 14, 2015. Four performances will take place at Flagler College’s Lewis Auditorium at 2:00p.m. and 7:30p.m. on Saturday, December 19 and on Sunday, December 20, 2015.
The St. Augustine Ballet is a 501(C)3 nonprofit arts organization whose mission is to offer dancers the unique opportunity to perform in full-length classical ballets productions alongside professional dancers.
