Do you like the idea of using a bunch of exciting materials and tools to experiment with mixed media then ending with an amazing 12″x12″ painting?
This is the workshop for you! Here’s how it works:
The morning of Day 1: You will create a book of quick mini-studies using only your intuition! There’s no pressure and you don’t have to be an experienced artist. You’ll work with pastels, paints, and papers to create your mini-studies. We’ll talk about color palettes and pick combinations you love. It’s so fun and freeing!
LUNCH BREAK: You may bring a lunch, or order from several nearby restaurants.
Afternoon of Day 1: You will create a stack of beautiful handprinted collage papers. I’ll introduce you to various types of paper, ways to use them, and how to add paint, inks, and some surprise elements to create stunning papers for use in your work (or even as works of art themselves)!
Morning of Day 2: You will choose one of your mini studies to create a full 12″x12″ painting using some of the beautiful handprinted papers you created!
Your painting can be fully abstract or I’ll show you how to add a little impressionist twist to it (a little Monet or Van Goghish).
This Workshop Is For Beginners And Experienced Artists Alike!
It’s an approach to creativity without stress that allows you to make something you never thought you could do using just your instincts!
I will be guiding you but you’ll be doing the creating!
