St. Augustine Founders Day Landing Ceremony & Encampment | SEPT 4

Celebrate St. Augustine’s founding at the Mission Nombre de Dios and the Fountain of Youth with reenactments from the Historic Florida Militia.

On September 4th starting at 10 AM, the Historic Florida Militia, in partnership with the Mission Nombre de Dios and the Fountain of Youth, will celebrate Founders Day with reenactments on these historic sites.

The day's events will start with the recreation of the Landing of Pedro Menendez de Aviles and the Founding of Saint Augustine. A 16th-century longboat replica will carry Pedro Menendez and his commanders to the shores of the current Mission property. The Landing ceremony will include Menendez naming the new Spanish settlement in honor

All events at the Mission Nombre de Dios are free and open to the public.

Events at the Fountain of Youth are free to St. John’s County residents with ID.
