Reenactors, craftsmen bring colonial St. Augustine to life at one-day holiday event

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Join Spanish, British, French, and Native American reenactors and historians as they bring Colonial St. Augustine to life with remarkable reenactments, authentic period costumes, and traditional crafts. The day begins at Castillo de San Marcos with a 9 a.m. flag raising and a musket and weapons check at 9:30 on the Castillo lawn. The event continues into the historic Colonial Quarter, St. Augustine’s home for all-day fun, before culminating in a torchlight parade down one of the oldest streets in the United States.

Watch as soldiers perform military drills, cannon and musket firings at the Castillo and the Colonial Quarter. Explore the Colonial Quarter Museum and find blacksmithing, leatherwork, loom weaving, cooking demonstrations and more. Plus, take part in making traditional Native American cornhusk dolls, trade bead bracelets and necklaces.
