"So here I am, a self-taught artist living in St. Augustine, Florida. As I paint, I learn more about myself. When using a combination of charcoal, acrylic paint, ink and collage on textured canvas a bold clear image emerges. Full of color, texture and energy, the work makes me curious and want to explore more. Enjoy!"

    Visual Arts: Painting
I've been creating art for as long as I can remember. What began as entertainment as a child grew to a passion as an adult. I'm largely self-taught, though I attended The Atlanta College of Art and the Art Institute of Atlanta. I also went back to school later in life to become trained in Digital Graphic Design & Illustration. My paintings are available to view and purchase at Art Box Gallery on King Street.
  • Fond Kiser
    Fond Kiser
Music; Music: Composition; Music: Instrumental; Music: Vocal
Fond Kiser is St. Augustine’s spectacular multi-talented musician who is known for his phenomenal narration in songwriting, his expansive musical knowledge, and his heartfelt lyrical poetry. Weaving fantasy and fable with his own life experiences, Fond has created a body of work that signals hope and deliverance from the battles waged inside one’s spirit and mind. The foundation of Fond’s sound rests entirely on his organic, original material. His small-town Texas upbringing has led him to create genres never heard of and become a prolific songwriter and intuitive instrumentalist. Fusing folk, alternative country, red dirt blues, Americana, neo-folk, backwoods bluegrass, folk-rock, and Texas blues, Fond’s songs are rarely definable in terms of genre. Reigning from Austin, Texas, Fond Kiser is the consummate storyteller. He has played shows with Willie Nelson, Leon Russell, Chris Wall, Band of Heathens, The Mother Truckers, Joe Ely, and comedian Ron White. He has written songs for Ford Motor Company, Nissan, Dodge, Winn-Dixie, and PBS. His original music has had airplay on XM radio’s Folk Village and Outlaw Country, United States Armed Forces Radio, and independent radio stations around Texas and the U.S. On the strength of his live performances, Fond landed key showcases at SXSW in Austin, TX for five consecutive years.

  • Walt Kulwicki
    Walt Kulwicki
Music; Music: Composition; Music: Instrumental; Music: Vocal
Walt Kulwicki was born in Baltimore, Maryland. Because his father worked in the paper box industry, however, the family was slightly nomadic. He’s called Massachusetts, New York City, New Jersey (twice), and Illinois home. Walt took his first guitar lesson when he was eight years old and he’s had a guitar in his hands ever since. In the late 1960’s, while living in New Jersey, he jammed with a band that played in the house across the street from his. “I would go over and play along with ‘Gloria,’” says Walt, “That was the only song I could play with them.” Shortly thereafter his family moved to the Quad Cities in Illinois. “It didn’t take me long to meet up with a drummer to just kind of jam,” he says, “Nothing real serious.” But four years later, Walt found himself in New Jersey again and it was during this time in New Jersey that his musical prowess began to take center stage in his life. He had the pleasure of opening for acts such as Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, Three Dog Night, The Monkees, Cinderella, and John Cougar Mellencamp. A pretty impressive resume. Walt’s two great passions are music and cars and, as much as he has become a musical staple in the Ancient City, it was the car business which first brought him to Florida in 1989. Walt says, “I didn’t tell anyone I was a musician but word just kind of got out.”
